1974
It was established as a result of the merger of British Overseas Airways and the British European Airways.
1976
British Airways commenced flights using supersonic Concorde airliner. It was considered the fastest aircraft in the world at the time.
1987

1993
British Airways acquires 25 % of stake in Qantas Airways.
1994
British Airways declared a 3 year development plan worth 500 million GBP. The plan aimed at enhancing First class services and Frequent Flyer program among other services.
1998
British Airways established OneWorldAlliance in collaboration with other international airlines.
2003
Ceased its Concorde aircrafts operations bringing this model to an end in its fleet
2011
British Airways and Iberia Airlines singed a merger agreement establishing the second largest airline group in Europe.
2013
British airways became the first airline in Europe to allow passengers use their electronic devices on board aircrafts.
