About Egypt Air
Egypt Air is the state-owned flag carrier of Egypt, which is headquartered at Cairo International Airport. Egypt Airline Flights and passenger services are provided to more than 75 destinations in the Middle East, Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Americas. Egypt Air is a member of Star Alliance and the Arab Air Carriers Organization.
In 2009, Egypt Air operations at its Cairo International Airport hub were notably overhauled due to the inauguration of the new Terminal 3 in April 2009. Egypt Airline transferred all its operations (international and domestic) to the new terminal that has more than doubled the airport's capacity.

Awards received:
2016: egyptair flights were awarded Platinum Awards by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) due to its achievement of 80% of Fast Travel project objectives supervised by (IATA). The project aims to enable passengers to complete their booking autonomously from beginning to end. It has become the first airline in Africa, the third in the Middle East, and the 11th all over the world to win this award.
2011: Egypt Air was awarded Africa's Leading Airline from World Travel Awards for business class.

Historic Milestones:
1932
The Egyptian Air Company was established in cooperation with the British company Airwork under the name Egypt Air Work in May of the same year to become the first airline in the Middle East and the seventh in the world.
1945
The Egyptian government nationalized Egypt Air Work, and changed its name to Egypt Air (Egypt Airlines).
1946
The name of the company has been changed again from Egypt Airlines to Egypt Air, and the American technology was introduced to its fleet after the purchase of 10 aircrafts of Beechcraft model.
1960
Egypt Air was merged with Syrian Airlines to form a new airline company called The United Arab Airlines. The fleet was reinforced by new jet aircrafts of Comit 4C model to become the first airline in the Middle East use jet aircrafts.
1969
The United Arab Airlines became the first airline in the Middle East to operate aircrafts of Boeing 707 models .
1971
The Syrian Airlines separated from United Arab Airlines and the airline’s name changed to Egypt Air.
2002
Egypt Air became a holding company that has 7 subsidiary companies
2004
Egypt Air was awarded the (IOSA) Certificate of Safety (IOSA) after auditing the airline’s operational safety standards by IATA becoming the first airline in Africa to receive this certificate
2008
egyptair joined Star Alliance, the world's largest airline alliance.
